Dear Sleepy-time

"Only in America can a cute black boy grow into an ugly white boy."--Brooke

Hey Sleepy-time, we hung out a lot yesterday and besides that, you're not as cute as she is.

All is well. So busy these days. I can't complain. It's summer break and who would have thought I would have so much stuff going on. However, there is much sunshine and warmth. So good. And I really like my hammock. This past week I've had some really good times in said hammock. I'm blabbering.

Hey Sleepy-time!! you'll have your scheduled time...or something like that.

I need to hang out with sleepy time

"But man, you really freak me out."--Weezer

First of all, no one should ever look into their apartment and see Patrick Swayze on pause on the TV screen. Yeah, that just happened to me about twenty minutes ago. Wow, I will probably have nightmares. I am working a lot. Hooray for on campus custodians. I need sleep.

I just purchased the new Weezer album yesterday. I dig it a lot. The lyrics, the guitars and whatever else they use create the noise I call music. Good purchase. Well, sleepy time just left a message on my machine and was all kinds of cranky that I'm not around much. I need to redeem myself. Goodnight, and please, sweet dreams.

Thought process

"Don't ever stop asking for help, you just might get it."--The Kid

Just watching Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Such a good movie. Now, the thing is thus: it really amazes me how the mind works. Think, consider, decode, create, decide. Lately I've been evaluating what I want to do with my near future. I've been trying to weigh the possibilities and the consequences thereof with a few decisions that I might take a chance with here soon.

My question: what drives us? What is it that makes us take action? Is it because we have a firm opinion on a certain subject? Certain views that we have? The views and opinions of the people we hold dear to our hearts? I believe that there is something there in each of us that makes us go absolutely insane. I just know that sometimes we take something and go with it, throwing out all other considerations. I believe that is how the world works. That is what brings so much good into the world. To finish:

"I suppose if we couldn't laugh at things that didn't make sense, we couldn't react to a lot of life."--Hobbes

Welcome Ethyl

"You're sort of white."--Seth Isaacson

It's been a quite the week. Basically, I've been out of town. Went up to Idaho for my friends wedding for a day and then headed home to Oregon. I would have to say things went well. It has been a while since I have written anything and it now seems weird to me that I am blogging. However, I still think I can get re-use to this. And then my grammer went to pot and I started creating words.

Couple of things to mention. I helped my mom deliver a wedding cake. I haven't done that in a long while. Mostly because I live 540 miles out of town. It is still an activity I enjoy doing with mommy. Second, we pulled the old switcharoo with cars. I gave them Gertrude and I got Ethyl. Ethyl drives so nice and I can dig the CD player. I think on the way home I listened to about 10 albums. And five of which were Weezer. Ah, my music staple. Also, I became a big fan of Maurice's. Got myself a rad green jacket and an "i-rock" t-shirt. Make me happy.

I tell you what, 'tis good to be back in the old complex. Crazy times are about. Especially since I now have a John Travolta type body suit and some teenage mutant ninja turtles masks. Yeah, I'm going to get myself into trouble. Well, things must get done. It's amazing how busy I am now that school is out for the summer. But the thing is that I am working full-time and I'm stocking on the greenbacks. You all are great.

Hoorah!!

"You walk up to her, ask her to dance, she says, 'hey baby, I just might take a chance.'"--Weezer

I don't think anyone should work 8 hours on a Saturday. But, I don't go to school and I need some greenbacks. Come to think of it, I do believe that I will not have many sleep in days. The latest I've rolled (and I do mean roll) out of bed has been at 8:00am. Eh...The only thing I know is that this summer is going to be crazy. New roommates and new people in the complex.

Last night I had a good chat with a roommate who just barely moved out. Man, things were put into perspective. Fall and winter were crazy times and whatnot. But the thing is, all is well. Good times were had and good times will be had. May you all take care of yourselves and have joyous times indeed.

final final done and what have you

"You like me because I am a scoundrel. There aren't enough scoundrels in your life."--Han Solo, Empire Strikes Back

And I'll probably end up saying the above quote to some girl and all will be happy. Anyway, I just got done with finals for the semester and now I am done for the summer. I feel all kinds of great right now. It's been kind of a crazy past few days. I'm glad I don't have to sleep through another class taught by the professor with a creepy comb-over. My tests today weren't nearly as bad or as long as I thought they would be. Als o the fact I really didn't care much about studying this time around a whole lot. I tried to have as much fun as possible. This might become my worst semester but at least I am a happy camper.

Just a few notes. I did end up using the word "hullabaloo" in my history final. And for my geography final I had to look up a country and tell where it was by number. On the map all the countries were numbered so I had to put the number down next to what country I was looking for. Considering that I didn't know where Tanzania was, I decided it better not to leave it blank and just put down the number corresponding to Canada. Then off to the side I wrote the following, "That oughtta knock your socks off." I certainly hope that will make a few of the T.A.s laugh. Gotta stir up some conversion and make their day better while they're grading papers and tests.

Sold back books. I faired well this time around. And with that I gave in and bought myself a movie. Private Eyes to be exact. One of my favorites. And to finish off I just have to say, "FEED IT A CHICKEN!!!"

He looks familiar

"A Jose Canseco bat? Tell me... you didn't pay money for this."--Rafael, TMNT

Just the other day I made a Wal-mart trip. Good times indeed. I went mostly to get some IBC's for Brett's bachelor party. However, I stopped by the the movie section which you know, just to see what was around. And then on the stand I saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Original Movie. I then proceeded to say "I hate myself," and grabbed the movie and bought it. That trip was something else. Well, last night I put TMNT in and wow, good movie. So cheesy and funny. The don't make movies like they used to.

Also, while watching it, I saw one of the thug characters and I thought, hey, he looks a lot like the guy who plays Guy Fleegman in Galaxy Quest. So I checked it out on the internet movie database because I would have been bothered a lot unless I knew who played what. And it turns out that it was the very same Sam Rockwell who does both roles. That made me so happy. It's amazing what nine years can do to a person. Now I just see the connection and think, that's so rad.

Other thoughts about this. Cory Feldman did the voice for Donatello (remember Mouth in Goonies). Warwick Davis (you might remember him as Willow) played Wicket in Return of the Jedi and was in all the other Ewok movies. It has surprised what people have played. Yesterday was a good day. In the words of Donatello: "It's too derivative." You all are great!!

Ninth Circle?

"In the garage, I feel safe, No one cares about my ways,
In the garage where I belong, No one hears me sing this song"
--Weezer

So, these past few days, I just pretty much wanted to give up on everything. I was insanely busy with school, work and all the basic duties of my life. Most of yesterday I spent on one of our cheap apartment chairs in front Dr. Jones' CPU pounding out my history paper. Generally he's the one typing away at one in the morning while I'm in bed grumbling away [I don't talk in my sleep, I grumble...I was once described by Bucket that my grumbling sounds like I'm either eating something really yummy or making out with some hot girl in my dreams, I don't know, I'm not awake and apparently I enjoy it so, there you go]. This time it was reversed. I was typing away and Dr. Jones was sleeping. I wouldn't have been typing so long if there hadn't a been crash of the CPU and me re-doing a page.

I was an angry man.

I was a tired man.

I just wanted everything to be done with.

However, got everything saved and I went to bed. This morning went to work and rediscovered how much I dislike my job and how much my supervisor gives me the willies. My sinuses were somewhat hurting and feeling out of whack, probably because I three cans of heathen juice yesterday. Couldn't print off my paper on campus because they didn't have the software I used to type my paper. Which meant I was walking all over the place wanting to destroy lots of stuff and screaming "I want to die!!" But in due time, it was turned in and I spent some time writing my thoughts of the past few days in the Moleskine and worrying about my math test I needed to take. I got a decent score.

I was finally able to relax for most of the evening for the first time in about a week. That won't last long now that I have finals this week and next. But I was able to watch 24. Such a good episode. Now time to head off to bed and grumble away. Ahh.....("grumble, grumble, grumble.....)

How much is that glowstick in the window?

"What good is a reward is you ain't around to use it?"--Han Solo, A New Hope

I bought doughnuts this morning, watched some cartoons of the 1980's type which had some stuff that would be illegal in today's cartooning standards/laws/agreements/addendums/pinky promises and whatever else have you. Tried convincing people to try some bloonies. That didn't work. I cleaned my drawers [what the context?]. Fought off Vick the Slick, RoboCrook, Super Rat, Eartha Brute, Patty Larson and Robert DeNiro with a glowstick on a barbecue grill in the northern hemisphere of Mars. I only won because because of my skills in working in minimal gravitational areas.

Also, we made a sauna out of our bathroom because it's small and the only temperature from the shower is called, "Scalding like unto nobody's beeswax!!" It is no longer under our control because Dr. Jones' sold it to a couple of guys from Luxembourg. Ah, what one will do for an eye-patch and some pop-rocks. And to finish off the night, Rivers Cuomo gave me a high-five.

08 April 2005

It's been 3am for a week straight now

"And rice cakes, rice cakes, rice cakes, Nose Ring Girl I love you!!!!"--Nerf Herder

This is the basic sum up of things during these past few days, which I might say, have been quite spacified. Let me tell you that ice cream at 2am is rad. Finally fell asleep an hour later and woke up 4 minutes before I had to be at work (an hour and a half after my first class started [class at 9:30, work at 11:00]) and Dr. Jones drove me up in Gertrude which is the vehicle that has been in the family since 1992 or something like that. I continued to space out the rest of the day. At least I got about the recommended 8 hours of sleep.

Other happenstances of the week: The date with the comedy girls? Well, I got free pizza and that was about the best of it. No wait, the best of it was the actual how we got the dates by emailing the entire troupe. This also happened to be the night which I and about everyone else stayed up until at least 3am. Ehh....I need to hang out with sleepy-time. A lot.

Then today I was just in a bizarre mood. I found a lot of stuff really funny. Especially when Jammin' started talking about shredded wheat and the fact that it had fiber. Also when Brett saw the quail and got all excited. Wow. And the Carls Jr. did my heart and tummy a lot of goodness.

Did the whole Wal-Mart trip today. Got my roll of film done and developed. There's some pretty crazy stuff there. Much like, me with banana cream pie in the face, me with Ms. Heath on a date where there were actual fireworks (namely a bottle rocket shot off by some random people in a suburban while we were dancing in the library parking lot) and the finals pictures where we have individual pictures of people with a burnt out light bulb above one's head.

Forecast: tomorrow, buy donoughts and watch cartoons like Rainbow Brite, Fraggle Rock and many other good stuff that was made when I was a wee lad about 15 years ago and possibly some. Plus, those California Raisins were something else. Yeah....
